Shobha Karandlaje is the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, in PM Narendra Modi’s government. Affectionately known as ‘Shobhakka’ by her supporters, she holds the feat of being the second women Union MoS for Agriculture of India and one of the few women parliamentarians from Karnataka to be elected twice consecutively. She was re-elected from Udupi-Chikmagalur in the 2019 Lok Sabha election with a record margin of over 3.50 lakh votes and secured over 7.00 lakh votes.
